Breastfeeding

Why is it sometimes so very hard?

All mothers are different, and all babies are unique, however, with 100’s of babies of experience most issues have been seen and the aim is to support you on your special journey.

Tongue-tie

Breastfeeding

and bottle-feeding babies

They can be graded and given percentages, called posterior or anterior, however, what they basically mean is that there is a small piece of skin beneath the tongue potentially causing tongue restriction. As the tongue is a major muscle and is used in lots of ways to facilitate successful breastfeeding a restriction can cause problems with feeding.

I cannot recommend Louise highly enough. My daughter was diagnosed with tongue-tie relatively late at 10 weeks. Louise was extremely sensitive to the difficulties we had been experiencing. She immediately put myself and my baby at ease with her professional manner.

She explained the procedure and all the potential risks and benefits clearly and the procedure itself was quick and relatively painless. She also made sure my baby was well and feeding before she left and followed up with a phone call the next day. As the procedure was done in our home, I was a little anxious beforehand but I trusted Louise completely and was confident in her knowledge and experience to treat our baby.

The procedure was a success and my daughter started to use her tongue more freely immediately and even started making different noises the next day!
